In mandarin, when some cooked bean are smashed into paste, we call it xx"sand" because of it sandy texture. Ex: Red bean paste = 红豆沙 （if translate directly = red 红 bean 豆 sand 沙).

And in a bread store in the Incheon airport, there named their bread this....
