Krabi Getaway

Krabi - a place that is coming up , but still less touristy as Phuket. I think quite a number of populations here are muslims, you can actually saw many ladies in tudung, or at least have their hair wrapped up. Their are also restaurants, food stalls that sell halal food.

Many websites state that May - Oct is raining season (tat's y it is low season too), i was worry whether it will ruin my trip or not....but thank god, everyday was a sunny day, except there was a day it is raining in Ao Nang. (but we were away island hopping).

The main road in Ao Nang

As it is low season, we get cheaper deal on accomodation & tour.

We stayed at Ben's House, a fabulous , cute little guesthouse. It is few months old, still new.

600 Baht (800 baht with ABF) per night for a Superior Room. They provide housekeeping everyday, 2 bottles of water everyday, and it has a swimming pool too! I got no complaint at all.

The Superior Room

View from the Balcony, overlooking Napotharat Beach

The swimming pool tat is share with the boutique hotel next door (Royal Nakara)

Islands Hopping

Ben's House also has tour arrangement services, we booked our "4 islands " (450 baht by long tail boat) & "Phi Phi Island" (1000 baht by speedboat) trip with them.

The "4 Islands Tour" (include Poda island, Hong Island, Chicken Island, Phranang Cave)

Poda Island

Poda Island

Tub Island (Note the sand strip in the middle of the sea, it appear during low tide, and 1 can walk over to the small island on the other side)

Sumwhere near to the Phranang Cave

Chicken Island (Koh Khai)

Vendors on the island

after bargaining, i bought a corn for 30 baht, & a BBQ drumstick (Gai Yang in thai) for 40 baht. (is expensive to me ) .

Phi Phi Island Tour

Bamboo Island

This cute baby gal was same boat with me, her parents leave her alone playing sands and go for photo session.. that is how a western child is being brought up to be independant i believe.

Maya Bay (it become so famous after movie "The Beach" was filmed there)

I think in total i spent about RM600 for this tour.. i did not fly there, but i used land transpot all the way up till Krabi.

It goes this way:
KL- Hatyai (abt 10hrs by bus)
Hatyai - Krabi town (abt 4hrs by bus)
Krabi Town - Ao Nang (30 min)

Ao Nang - Hatyai (abt 5 hrs by minivan)
Hatyai - KL (abt 16 hrs by train , and of coz....i'll definitely go for a sleeping berth)

Interview, interviews, interviewss...

After i had been through so many airlines interviews, i make my own conclusion on what do they actually look for in selecting a cabin crew.

-For gals, too young they don't take in , or if u still look like college student or fresh from college, passing % is low.
-Too thin or too fat, body built too small or too big, passing % low.
-Always keep eye contact with interviewers.
-Try ur best to keep smiling, at least enough to conver ur nervousness.
-Always follow the instructions, if they mention business attire, don't go in casual wear, if they said skirt, don't go in pants etc.
-Be humble
-If cabin crew is wat u wan, don't afraid of failure and rejections, not everyone got it in the 1st few attempts, at least for me is not.....

Using a quote of Ivan: "if she had stop trying, she might not get this now"

Cabin Crew Interview IV - Korean Air

The Interview for this airline is a little different . During the interview, you will be standing (yes....stand throughout the whole interview ), instead of sitting as for other airlines.

Similar to others airlines, they will start with group interview 1st. Abt 8 girls in a group, walk a round infront of interviewers and stand in a row at the marked position. They are 4 interviewers.

For those successful in Round 1, they will be invited to the Final Interview few days later. Final Interview will be the same, and also a english conversation test before u go into the interview room.

Korean Air has the simpliest interview, only ask u to self introduce ,follow by some questions from interviewer, no uniform fitting, no situations question, but they are also the toughest airlines to get in. I just like the uniform too much!!!

Cabin Crew Interview III - Emirates

Emirates had their preliminary round of interview done by agent - SAAS Atlantic. They will held walk-in interview, if u are selected, then you are qualified to go for Round 1 Interview by Emirates. Those Interviewer fly from Dubai to KL. Normally 2 of them.

Preliminary Round:

Group discussion- 10 ppl in a group, a topic will be given , and are given 10 minutes to discuss, and to come out with a conclusion. Interviewer will go round and observe everyone during discussion. There is no right or wrong answer, they just want to see how you present yourself, how you behave when there is an conflict of ideas etc.

If you are selected in this round, then you will be invited for Round 1 interview.

Round 1 will have the same group discussion also, if you are selected , then english test, then 1 to 1 interview i guess (coz the furthest that i had been thru is till the group discussion in round 1 only...)

Cabin Crew Interview II - Air Asia

U can really see people from all walks of life during Air Asia Walk-In interview , for example: gal that chew the chewing gum the whole day, even is their turn to be interviewed; gals that come in in pants or super short mini skirt.....well i am not sure of what Air Asia are looking for, so i got no idea whether dressing in mini skirt, casual is ok or not.

Few years back, they will do a few interview task together.
- You will be asked to walk on a stage, with their trolley bad & hand bag.
- walk towards interviewer after this , show them ur hand.
- read a passage in English
- 1 to 1 interview

Nowadays, they seperate it.
- you will be group in a group of 10, then 1 by 1 walk in to the room.
- in the room, follow the sign on the floor, and walk towards interviewers, and show hand.
- and walk out of the room, walk for result

I was always being booted out after this round...before even i could speak or introduce myself. So i really got no idea what they are looking for, and wat will happen next.

Cabin Crew Interview - SIA

May be i should blog about how airlines conduct their interview....after i had been to numerous cabin crew interview.

Let's start with SIA, average every 2 months they will have a recruitment excersize.

1st Round : will group in a group of 10 for group interview. They will ask u to introduce uself, and another questions. It can be any questions.( Ex: why u wan to join SIA, tell us about a good or bad customer service that u had encouter)

If you are selected in 1st round, then u will go to Kebaya Fitting / Skin check round.

There are uniforms & sandles, u will need to change into the uniform, and walk towards the interviewer. They will look at ur posture, fingers, skin....anything that is not cover by the uniforms, and also to check whether u had any tattoos on ur feet. ( this is what i think la....coz they never mention what they are looking for)

Again, you will know whether you are in or not for the next round after this. Then u will go to round 2.

Round 2: 1 to 1 interview. The interview will ask all sort of situation questions, and see how u react to it.

Once again, another heart beating round , if u are selected, then u will proceed to the Final Round

Final Round : 2 to 1 interview. 2 Interviewer will be there, u will need to introduce urself, then they will ask questions from there.

You will know on the spot whether u are selected or not.

For guys, is only skin check.
